Rich Maltzman
Master Lecturer at Boston University
I consider myself a ‘pracademic’ – for the past 10 years, Master Lecturer at Boston University, an author, and also a consultant delivering improved results. I “retired” from a 40-year career in telecom, mainly in engineering and project management. My focus has always been on the converting weaknesses into strengths while teaching clients/students how to apply deep learning experience to everyday situations.
In 2010, I co-founded EarthPM, LLC, a company devoted to integrating sustainability thinking into project management. I've spoken extensively on this topic globally, including in Costa Rica, South Africa, Malaysia, China, Mexico, Canada, India, Italy, and The Netherlands. My blog at PMI’s projectmanagement.com (People, Planet, Profits, and Projects) site is widely followed, and recently I started a Spotify podcast, “B’yond PM”, after being a guest on far too many other podcasts.
I have co-authored seven books on project leadership, including the recent Great Meetings Build Great Teams, and the upcoming GreenPMO, I’m a former VP of Professional Development for PMI Mass Bay, and was on the Review Committee for the 7th Edition PMBOK® Guide, helping to ensure that sustainability thinking finally made it into the Standard and the Body of Knowledge.
